General Terms and Conditions
In order for us to transport a motorbike, it is essential that it is not locked in any way and that it can be moved without difficulty on level ground by one person.
We do not transport dismantled motorbikes, motorbikes in parts, damaged motorbikes, motorbikes involved in accidents, or those being moved as part of a house move, etc.
The motorbike is transported unpackaged, inside our specialised vehicles designed solely and exclusively for transporting motorbikes; they do not share space with any other goods.
Each motorbike is individually secured and protected in the best possible way to ensure it is firmly held in place without causing damage to any part of it.
Our materials have been tested and approved by the technical departments of the various major brands we work for; they offer durability, reliability, anti-abrasion treatment and high-quality products manufactured within the EEC.
The maximum height of the motorbike for transport must not exceed 135 cm.
This measurement must be taken with the motorbike in an upright position, with both wheels on the ground and without it being supported by or raised on any stand.
If this height is exceeded, any parts protruding above it (usually the windscreen and rear-view mirrors) must be removed and protected at the customer’s expense at the time of collection or drop-off at the point of origin.
If we receive the motorbike with the windscreen or rear-view mirrors exceeding the maximum height, or with screw-on rear-view mirrors fitted, we may need to remove them to ensure the loading, safety and operational aspects of the transport.
Should it be possible to remove these parts and this is ultimately carried out, neither LVTmoto nor any agent or driver shall be liable for any damage that may be caused, either to these parts or to any other part of the motorbike, as a result of this.
Depending on the difficulty involved or the time taken, a handling charge may apply.
If disassembly is not possible for any reason, LVTmoto will consider adjusting the sale price, postponing or cancelling the transport on a case-by-case basis, applying the relevant cancellation policy.
Screw-on rear-view mirrors, regardless of their height, must be removed and protected by you.
We recommend protecting them with non-abrasive material to prevent them from being damaged or causing damage to anything else, and storing them under the seat, in the glove compartment or in the rear pannier.
If there is no space under the seat, in the glove compartment or in the top box, they must be protected and secured to the motorbike using non-abrasive material, taking care not to damage either the accessory or the motorbike.
It is very important to protect the area where you secure them (seat, tail section, etc.) so as not to damage either the mirrors or other parts.
We advise against using cable ties and cardboard, as these are abrasive and can damage delicate areas; the best option is cling film (kitchen wrap) and masking tape.
If your motorbike’s mirrors are integrated (particularly on sports bikes), do not do anything to them; leave them as they are.
You are solely responsible for the protective measures we ask you to take; under no circumstances are our agents or drivers liable.
Neither LVTmoto nor any agent or driver will be held responsible for any damage that may be caused, either to these components or to any other part of the motorbike, as a result of incorrect preparation.
If you have any luggage in addition to the motorbike, you must specify this when booking.
Alongside the motorbike, at no extra cost and with no liability for its contents, you may carry one item of luggage provided that the sum of its three dimensions (Length + Width + Height) is 120 centimetres or less and its gross weight does not exceed 5 kg.
If a piece of luggage has maximum dimensions (Length + Width + Height) of 300 cm or more, or if its weight exceeds 25 kg, we will confirm whether we can transport it and, if so, the price once we have assessed your request.
(See the luggage price table….)
- 120.00 cm -> 15,00 €
- 150.00 cm -> 25,00 €
- 180.00 cm -> 30,00 €
- 210.00 cm -> 40,00 €
- 240.00 cm -> 50,00 €
- 270.00 cm -> 60,00 €
- 300.00 cm -> 70,00 €
Once you have booked the service, you will receive a label in the confirmation email which you must print out and attach to the parcel.
The label is essential for the driver to collect the parcel or for the agent to accept it, to ensure it travels with the motorbike, and to track it during transport.
LVTmoto will not be held responsible for any parcel that is not properly documented in the order and does not have the label attached to the parcel itself.
If the details provided do not correspond to the service booked, LVTmoto will consider adjusting the price, postponing or cancelling the transport, depending on the circumstances.
This service is intended to assist with the dispatch of certain items that are usually transported alongside motorbikes, such as helmets, exhaust pipes, small parts, etc.
Under no circumstances do we transport dismantled motorbikes, motorbikes in parts, damaged or accident-damaged motorbikes, or motorbikes being moved as part of a house move, etc.
We don’t start the motorbikes, so we don’t need the keys – we just need to make sure the motorbike isn’t locked in any way.
You can leave the keys in the bike’s ignition, provided you don’t turn the ignition on; they’ll still be there when the bike reaches its destination.
If the bike has a remote control (this also applies to the keys), we recommend protecting them so that they aren’t damaged and don’t damage anything else, and storing them in a glove compartment, under the seat or in the rear top box.
If they cannot be stored on the motorbike or in the top box, they must be protected and secured to the motorbike, taking care to protect the area where you secure them so as not to damage either the remote control (or keys) or the motorbike itself.
You can also secure them with a cable tie at a point where neither the motorbike nor the key itself will be damaged.
The motorbike will be transported with the transport documents we issue based on the information you provide; you are responsible for ensuring this information is accurate.
We will use your information to generate the consignment note; this is the only documentation we require.
In any case, the motorbike’s registration documents may be transported with it.
The movements of the motorbike when loading it onto or unloading it from the vehicle, as well as those that occur whilst it is being transported inside the vehicle, cause the motorbike’s alarm to go off.
This causes inconvenience to the driver and confusion amongst passers-by who see someone carrying a motorbike with its alarm sounding.
If the motorbike is fitted with an alarm, it must be deactivated or set to ‘transport mode’ at the time of collection from the point of origin or handover to the agent.
LVTmoto reserves the right to postpone or cancel the transport if the alarm is not deactivated.
We are unaware of the condition of the batteries, as they are not visible and we do not handle them in any way.
Under no circumstances will LVTmoto, or any of its agents or drivers, accept responsibility for the condition of any battery should it arrive at its destination in a discharged state.
We have a very low incident rate of 0.09 per cent and do not offer any additional transport insurance beyond that required by law (LOTT)*.
At LVTmoto, we take responsibility for any damage caused during transport.
In the event of an incident, this must be clearly noted on the transport document at the time of final delivery, whether with the driver or at the agent’s premises.
Under no circumstances will claims be accepted if they are not noted in this way, or if they are reported after final delivery.
No claims will be accepted for motorbikes that are packed, protected or in areas that cannot be visually inspected at the time of collection.
*Further information on the LOTT can be found at this link: https://www.boe.es/buscar/act.php?id=BOE-A-1987-17803&p=20180929&tn=1
Payments are made via the online payment gateway on our website; it’s quick, easy and transparent.
Under no circumstances do our agents or drivers handle collections or payments; we only accept online payments.
Our online payment gateway supports:
In the event of cancellation, the following refunds apply:
Once payment has been made and the service documented, 70% of the amount paid
Up to 72 working hours before the scheduled collection date, 50% of the amount paid
From 72 hours prior to the start of transport, no refund will be given.
Should the contracted transport service be unable to be provided for reasons beyond LVTmoto’s control, the applicable cancellation policy will apply.
Our on-time delivery rate is 97%
Due to unforeseen circumstances inherent to road transport and beyond our control (weather or road conditions, unexpected traffic jams, checks, accidents, vehicle breakdowns, public holidays, etc.), the journey may be slowed down, which could lead to delivery delays; these are generally no longer than 24/48 hours.
This is very rare and, should it occur, we will provide as much advance notice and as accurate information as possible.
